Our Crown & Bridge Lab Process

🦷 1. Case Prescription and Impression Submission

The dentist sends a prescription outlining the type of crown/bridge, shade, material (e.g., PFM, zirconia, lithium disilicate), and other details.Impressions (either physical or digital scans) of the patient’s mouth are submitted, along with bite registration and opposing arch models.

🧪 2. Model Preparation and Die Trimming

If physical impressions are sent
The lab pours the impressions with dental stone to create working models. The die (the individual tooth/teeth receiving the crown) is trimmed and sectioned for detailed access.
If digital scans are used:
The lab designs digital models and prepares virtual dies using CAD software.

🖥️ 3. CAD Design (Computer-Aided Design)

For digital workflows, the crown or bridge is designed on specialized software.

The technician accounts for margins, occlusion, contours, and other anatomical features.

⚙️ 4. CAM Milling or 3D Printing (Computer-Aided Manufacturing)

The design is sent to a milling machine (for zirconia, wax, or PMMA) or a 3D printer (especially for resin patterns or temporary restorations).

A wax pattern may be milled or printed for further processing like casting or pressing (for metal-ceramic or E.max).

🔥 5. Coping Fabrication and Framework Try-in

For metal or zirconia restorations:

A coping (base structure) is fabricated.

The fit is checked on the die/model for accuracy before layering porcelain. In bridge cases, the framework is checked for passive fit and stability across abutments.

🎨 6. Porcelain Layering or Staining

Porcelain is layered manually (for PFM) or sintered zirconia is stained and glazed.

Multiple firings in a furnace occur to build up natural contours and esthetics.

🔍 7. Final Finishing and Polishing

The crown or bridge undergoes a final inspection for:

Marginal integrity
Occlusion and contacts
Shade matching
Fit on model

It is cleaned, disinfected, and packaged for delivery.

📦 9. Delivery Back to the Clinic

After final approval, we craft the crowns and bridges to match the mockup and prepped teeth with seamless accuracy. The result is a natural, aesthetic, and durable smile transformation.
